Cedar Creek in Congaree National Park
Cedar Creek is a beautiful black-water stream running through Congaree National Park. Our trip is a 3 hour “out and back” guided trip. You will see Bald Cypress, Tupelo, Pine and Willow Oak trees along this slow-moving creek. Some of the trees in Congaree National Park are record holders! The park is also teeming with wildlife from wild boar, otter, deer, various birds and yes, creepy crawlies!
Our trips focus on the history in and around the park and start at South Cedar Creek Canoe/Kayak Launch in the National Park. (It is a 7-10 min drive from the Visitor’s Center.) We ask that you arrive at least 15 mins before the start time listed.
Your trip includes your kayak, vest, paddle and a guide familiar with the area. Cost is $80 per person.
- Gratuity: Tips are always appreciated.
- Dress: Wear what you’re comfortable in and don’t mind getting dirty or wet.
- We ask that you apply any bug spray in the parking lot before heading down to the landing.
- There are basic bathrooms at the landing (no running water)
